The Story
Built Around the Land
In 2000, Alfred and Brenda Beier purchased 175 acres of rolling Iowa landscape near Glenwood. Working with Ed and Ruth Cambridge through Oak Ranch Development, they created Woodfield — a subdivision designed to work with the natural terrain rather than against it.
Woodfield was planned with erosion reduction and stormwater management as core principles. The result is a community that preserves the beauty of the Loess Hills while offering premium homesites for custom-built homes.
Today, Woodfield is home to several Beier-built custom homes and continues to offer select homesites for families looking to build their dream home in a setting that's equal parts neighborhood and nature.
